Eric Bird
Eric has a long involved history in dance, back to when he was young and his grandma tried teaching him a few dance steps.  Eric moved to Mexico when he was 10 and started dancing Cumbia and Ranchera as a teenager, while also performing the occasional Ballet Folklorico.  On moving to Provo, UT in 2005 for college Eric began dancing salsa and swing, of which he quickly became addicted. He decided to sign up to do some dance classes, mostly just to meet girls.  Eric’s passion for dance increased to the point where he decided to minor in ballroom dance at Brigham Young University.
While at BYU he was a performer on the BYU Ballroom Dance Company and a dancer on the BYU Swing Kids team. He has also choreographed for film and has extensive experience in both the American and International styles, both socially and competitively. He thoroughly enjoys teaching club Latin, since that is where his dance journey began.  He teaches and competes with his students at all levels from beginning to advanced.  He also holds a Bachelors degree in Theatre Arts and reviews the occasional show for John Garcia’s The Column.
