Bria Bird

Bria began dancing in college at Brigham Young University, taking some dance classes as a break from all of her science classes. She fell in love with ballroom and studied all styles, including Latin, rhythm, smooth, and standard, going to the gold bar level in the American styles and the gold II level in standard. Bria took several medals exams, earning high honors in the advanced American styles. While at BYU Bria also spent a year on the formation teams, performing at dance labs, for church groups, and at the end of year concert before an audience of approximately 10,000 people. She graduated from BYU with a minor in ballroom dance and a degree in microbiology before she moved to Texas, where she began teaching high school science during the day and dance at night. Bria has taught individual students and group classes, working with beginners and advanced students, groups of couples, and all-female classes, covering topics like basic and advanced social dancing, beginning and intermediate standard, and lady’s technique and styling. Bria competes American smooth and international ballroom with her husband.
